I happen to treat text/literature like a manual, but single ideas described by Maurice Benayoun are not a big prize for me – it doesn’t attract me to work on the ideas of others. Especially interesting in TheDump.net is the past unperfect tense, potentiality, reciprocal, an opposite to "The Cult of Done".
In a "dumped" room/showroom I stored, so to say, the content of the blog: the dumps from the montage of the group exhibition The Dump in the Centre of Contemporary Art Łaźnia in Gdańsk. TheDump.net as an artist's blog and also as a project, beyond being a kind of art workshop, is a kind of diary. The list of my own unrealized projects/ideas is an intimate matter in some measure, which brushes "the pornography of our times" when it is published. I try to establish a distance, to create a border between the viewer and this intimate world; by putting the glass plate I subtract part of the exhibition space (the cabinet) from the rest of the space. I have made the part of the exhibition intimate, leaving a chance to look inside of it.
Zdarza mi się traktować tekst/literaturę jak instrukcję, jednak poszczególne pomysły opisane przez Maurice'a Benayouna nie są dla mnie łupem, nie pociąga mnie wykonywanie czyichś pomysłów. Zajmuje mnie w TheDump.net czas przeszły niedokonany, przeciwstawienie się „The Cult of Done".
W zdumpowanym pomieszczeniu/gablocie zmagazynowałam właściwie treść bloga TheDump.net: odpady z montażu całej wystawy The Dump oraz te czysto "techniczne" z Łaźni, związane z jej powstawaniem.
The Dump.net, jako blog artysty a także jako projekt, obok bycia specyficznym warsztatem twórczym jest rodzajem dziennika. Spis niezrealizowanych własnych pomysłów to dość intymna sprawa, która opublikowana ociera się o „pornografię naszych czasów". Dystansuję odbiorcę do tej intymności szybą, odjąwszy z przestrzeni ekspozycyjnej jej (przestrzeni) część – uintymniłam część ekspozycji pozostawiając możliwość zajrzenia do niej.

The Dump.net can be defined as a kind of internet forum which is open for interaction with visitors (artists and curators). Each visitor can take something from it and use it, to accomplish it or interpret it.
The Dump.net is a kind of thoughts recycling, it is not the end but the beginning of something which could be brought into existence or materialized. It evokes an interesting situation. In contemporary art it is the concept which is given most importance and on Dump blog the artist allows us to use his thoughts and gives us access to the flow of his creative imagination. Is there a need to produce new ideas if instead the existing one can be used? This question is inherent in Benayoun`s project. We live in times of the ‘big quotation’, the eternal return of old trends, permanent repetitions and interpretations. The original has its genesis in another, the copy read as an original, creates another copy. The process is permanent due to the accessibility of the internet and the omnipresence of mass media.

The Dump – recycling of thoughts project is a kind of experiment, its composition can remain an internet forum. What are the rules of this game? Artists will be asked to search the Dump website seeking inspiration there. They can decide if they want to interpret chosen ideas or to materialize something found there. The.dump.net in this project is understood as a database, an open source of ideas. Consultations with Maurice Benayoun, all ideas author are not required but possible. The author is absent, only his thoughts are available.

The Dump.net to pomysł francuskiego artysty i teoretyka Maurice Benayoun. Krótko opisać go można jako śmietnisko/skład myśli. Ma on formę internetowego blogu, na którym znajdują się koncepty prac w formie teoretycznej, hipotecznej, pomysły zbyt skomplikowane do realizacji, nie do końca zdefiniowane, przelotne idee rodzące się codziennie w umyśle artysty. The Dump.net to swoisty recycling myśli, nie koniec lecz początek czegoś, co dzięki internetowemu blogowi może zaistnieć, ulec materializacji. W świecie, gdzie pomysły są najważniejsze, artysta udostępnia strumień swojej twórczej wyobraźni innym. Po co produkować nowe idee, kiedy można wykorzystać już istniejące? To pytanie tkwi w internetowym blogu Benayoun immanentnie. Żyjemy w czasach wielkiego cytatu, recyclingu starych trendów, nieustannych interpretacji i powtórzeń. Oryginał rodzi kopię, która jako oryginał jest interpretowana. Proces ten, dzięki internetowi i powszechnej dostępności mediów, zachodzi nieustannie.

The Dump – recycling myśli jest rodzajem eksperymentu, jego konstrukcja kojarzyć się może z internetowym forum. Jakie są reguły gry? Zaproszeni artyści powinni zgłębić internetowy blog w poszukiwaniu inspiracji do tworzenia własnych prac. Od nich zależy, czy podążą za wskazówkami artysty, czy na ich bazie stworzą swoje własne prace. Konsultacje z Mauricem Benayoun nie są wymagane, choć możliwe. Rola twórcy konceptów ograniczona zostaje do funkcji wytwórcy myśli, idei. Autor znika, ukryty po drugiej stronie łącza. Jego blog to rodzaj bazy danych, źródła otwartego dla innych.
